By Ernst: One Christmas Eve, I sat alone at home. Outside, the cold was bitter, and a fierce wind cut through the cracks of my old house, making it nearly impossible to keep warm.
Wrapped in a thick blanket, I stared silently into the dim glow of a single candle.
My thoughts drifted through the events of the past year. I reflected on difficulties that—often after great effort—had finally fallen into place, and on problems that still gnawed at me, despite my attempts to accept them and let them go.
It was on this evening that I was once again reminded of how limited the human being is, and yet how they are called to accomplish great things, as Jesus once said.
Suddenly, the door flew open, and a biting cold swept into the room. I remained seated, frozen, as a woman floated into my house. She was completely wrapped in white robes that fluttered violently in the storm, cold and radiant like an icy snow queen. With an outstretched hand, she pointed directly at my heart and proclaimed:
“Come and behold the impending birth.”
Though no physical sound could be heard, her words penetrated every cell of my body. My heart opened, rushed toward her, and surrendered completely. She led me out into the dark night, and we ascended—floating for a long time over a frozen, deathly silent earth—until we reached what felt like the very end of the world.
There, we suddenly came to a standstill. Through a small opening in the deepest darkness, I was permitted to gaze into the depths of my own being. What I saw was a human form entirely wrapped in countless strips of sturdy fabric, like a living mummy, enclosed within the coffin of an empty universe.
Invisible hands began to unwind the strips, one by one. Each was briefly shown to me so that I might see what was written upon it. The symbols were ancient, their ink faded by the passing of countless centuries—magical signs that told complete life stories in clear language, revealing images of events beyond words.
They spoke of the full spectrum of human experience: beautiful and ugly deeds, lives filled with love and lives consumed by hatred and evil. Birth and death, the creation of life and the destruction of it—everything a human being is capable of was recorded there.
In thick, darkened strokes, the despair of being cut off from the Primal Source was clearly visible. In lighter tones, one could read the intense longing for Light and unconditional Love, and the eternal search for what is sacred. Layer by layer, the human being was revealed—each strip bearing witness to a long, painful journey of development.
At last, the invisible hands grasped the final strip. They loosened it slightly, but did not yet remove it. Beneath it, a glimpse of a naked human form appeared—radiant with light. It was much smaller than I had imagined, far purer than anything I had ever seen. Real. Pure. True. Timelessly beautiful. Humanity as it was meant to be from the very beginning.
As I continued to watch in silence, this form slowly faded. What remained was inky blackness and profound stillness. Then, in the very place where the small, perfect human had been, a bright radiance ignited—quickly expanding into a clear core of pristine, living energy. Vibrating in pure etheric circles, imbued with rich blessing, it connected with all beings who, joined together, merged into the radiant, sparkling Source.
And there it revealed itself: the power that was never bound by time or space, yet has remained constantly present and active within the human heart throughout all ages—like a seed, waiting to be born. And then, gently, I was brought back to my home.
