Let’s start with the basics of this configuration. Beginning in 2012, (and until approximately 2016) Uranus and Pluto have been “squaring” with one another. What that means is that the two planets, when triangulated astrologically, are placed in opposing postions, repeatedly. Throughout history we’ve seen this before and the configuration of these two planets usually lasts between 3-5 years. If you trace down this pattern over the past 500 years or so, historically things are very, very interesting to say the least. (I will write more about that later.)

So why is this so important and why does it have such a huge impact? The basic reason is because Uranus represents change, invention, revolution and higher awareness. Pluto represents globalization, destruction, transformation and renewal. We must also remember that Pluto is the God of the underworld– in other words, Pluto means the death of the old, the death of the ego, the death of the things that are not working. The strong presence of Uranus also represents the end of false structures that are not supportive of those living under them. So when you have the “establishment”– and systems that are no longer working going up against these factors, it will not be boring.
